About Us

Thanks for stopping by my about page!  My name is Mark, and I run the site here: BestBoardGamesList.com.

Like many of you out there, I was first introduced to board games as a young lad many years ago.  I grew up with 2 brothers so playing board games became a fun way we frequently passed the time.  We started with the basic classics – Chutes and Ladders, Sorry, Memory, Monopoly, Checkers, Chess, Clue etc.  As we grew, so did our collection as well as the diversity of our games. We played every style of game – strategy, family, kids, fantasy, themed, war, party games – you name it we’ve played them.  As the years went on and now as adults, our affinity for board games is still alive and well.  My brothers and I (as well as friends and family) still get together once or twice a month for game night.

So, I was searching the internet one day to find the best family board game(s) available for an upcoming family get together.  Unfortunately, what I found (as usual) was A LOT of information and TONS of options!  In fact, it was so much information, that I felt a bit overwhelmed.  I read review after review and I soon realized that there are lots of varying opinions of what the “best” truly is.  What I ended up doing was going to Amazon.com, Boardgamegeek.com and read numerous blogs to basically narrow down my options.  I ended up purchasing the bestselling, top rated, board game that “most” people agreed upon – that met both my personal and group interests.

That got me thinking.  What if there was a site that gives a list of all the top rated, best selling, popular board games in all categories/genres.  That way, folks like me can decide which of the “best” will meet their own specific needs.  And so, bestboardgameslist.com was born.  After spending many hours of research and analysis, I’ve put together what I call the best board games list— It’s a complete interactive chart that allows you to view the information you want to see on hundreds of the top board games on the market.

So, I’m not a board game “geek” or would even call myself an expert!  But I feel like I’ve provided a valuable resource based on the available information that is out on the internet.  Yes, I’ll be providing my own opinions and input along the way, but when it comes right down to it; board games are more fun when they match YOUR  personality.

As I do more research, I’ll be providing in-depth reviews of popular board games, videos of game play, and more comparative analysis.

In short, I hope my site here will help you find the Board Game that’s right for you.
